Our Story
Shred2u was born out of a simple frustration. In 2019, our founder Steve Orenstein needed to shred some documents but didn't want to spend a fortune buying a shredder — or deal with that annoying noise in the office!
Having spent five years building Zoom2u, a delivery platform, Steve recognised an opportunity to leverage that same driver network to collect customer documents and transport them securely to a certified shredding facility. Shred2u was created.
Today, Shred2u provides fast, secure, and affordable document destruction services to homes and businesses across Sydney and Melbourne, with plans to expand nationwide in the near future.

Steve Orenstein — Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Steve Orenstein founded Shred2u in 2019 after identifying a gap in the market for a simple, on-demand document shredding service. Having previously spent five years from 2014 building Zoom2u — a technology-driven delivery platform — Steve understood how to mobilise a driver network efficiently and securely.
The concept was straightforward: use Zoom2u's dedicated driver network to collect documents directly from customers and deliver them to certified partner destruction facilities. No expensive equipment, no hassle, just fast and secure shredding at your doorstep.
Under Steve's leadership, Shred2u has grown into a trusted document destruction service used by hundreds of businesses and individuals across Australia. The company continues to innovate, with plans to expand nationwide and introduce new service offerings to meet growing demand for secure data destruction.
